Thank you so much for being a guest on The Renew You Podcast!
Don’t be Nervous! This is just a casual chat between friends! When you get done, you will feel like you and Quinn have known each other forever. She is super easy to chat with!
That being said…here are a few brief instructions on how we interview our guests and record our podcast episodes:
- Recording Instructions -
Pre-Interview (Zoom)
On the day of our scheduled interview we will start by jumping in a Zoom video call. An email link will be sent to the email you provided us with on Calendly.
If you have not used Zoom before, you will be emailed a link prior to the call with the link to connect, instructions for downloading and opening Zoom and how to make sure your video and sound are on. (We will have someone on our RY Team on standby to help answer any technical questions that you might have so don’t worry!)
We will start the pre-interview with introductions, talk through the questions briefly and go over a few show notes. We will use the form you filled out on Calendly to populate a few leading questions for you to help the flow of the interview
After we are finished with our pre-interview, we will send you a Zencastr email link to begin the interview recording.
Interview (Zencastr)
Once we get connected on Zencastr, it will be an audio recording only and not video. Zencastr will record our audio on individual tracks and also our audio track together to create the best possible sound for our podcast. Usually this works great!
We will then begin our interview which is very conversational in nature. We can always edit out any mistakes, so don’t worry!
Interview Outline:
We want to give you an opportunity to properly introduce yourself and give a brief bio. (This should be a short soundbite, maybe 2-3 minutes tops.)
Feel free to share your background leading up to what our main focus is for the interview.
Then we will dive into your passion, platform and the conversational part of the interview.
At the end, we will also give you an opportunity to tell our listeners how they can follow along with your ministry/platform.
Helpful Hints for Recording:
Please just be aware while recording of any background noise that can affect the quality of the sound. (fans, a/c units, pets, kids, etc.)
It's also helpful if you shut down all other applications on your computer while recording. Other devices in your home that may be using the internet connection (someone streaming a movie or uploading a large file…) can cause internet connectivity issues which could affect our recording.
If we have any audio/video issues, we could call an audible or may have to do a 2nd interview session because sometimes technical difficulties occur. If this happens, we will reschedule at another time or simply start again if time permits. Sometimes we will just roll with it, if the quality isn’t too terrible!
Cancellations/Concerns:
If for some unexpected reason you need to cancel or reschedule your interview, please click on the confirmation link you received from Calendly, and click the cancel/reschedule button or send us an email and we will be happy to reschedule it for you.
If there is anything else you think we should ask you during the interview, or if you have any other questions or concerns prior to the interview, please feel free to email us those as well.
