Episode 52: Finding Gratitude in the Midst of Trials with Jason & Holly Bollinger

Ep 52 sq.png

“L

ooking back you can see how God wove our whole story together and the trials were just as much a part of it as all of the joy and the healing and the miracles we were able to see.”

- Holly Bollinger

November is a month of thankfulness. And in the year 2020, we need gratitude now more than ever. The bible tells us to consider it joy when we face trials. But, is it possible to go a step further and be able to thank God for the lessons we've learned through trials?!

On today’s episode, I wanted to talk about how God makes us whole through trials; focusing on this verse:

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." - James 1:2-4

In today’s episode, I have the privilege of interviewing Jason and Holly Bollinger, who are a part of our “Renew You Podcast” team and they live and breathe their life in ministry.

They have experienced quite a testimony in their life of faith including the adoption of their daughters, fertility loss, loss of vision, etc…yet through it all, they still have an unwavering faith.

Today I am bringing them on to share their testimony and apply this verse to it. We pray this episode will be practical, hopeful and helpful. Enjoy!

SCRIPTURE MENTIONED:

“Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.” - Habbakuk 2:2-3

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.” - Psalm 112:6-8
