In today's Mother's Day Special episode, I got to talk with three generations of mothers -- Korie Robertson, Chrys Howard and Jo Shackelford -- from the well-known Robertson family, starring in the new Facebook show "At Home with the Robertsons" and former hit reality show "Duck Dynasty."
In the episode, I asked each of the women to share what they felt was the best thing they did in parenting to raise children who love the Lord and then I got to hear feedback from their family members about what they admired in that woman as a mother. I think the best part about the interview is how they all raved about each other as the best mother they know. They truly have so much love and respect for each other, which makes their family all the more special.
Additionally, we discuss their feelings about how to handle a child that is not pursuing Christ, their best tips for raising kids who do not fit in with this world but instead stand out, and a few of their other favorite parenting tips too!
When I reflect on this interview, I can only think that these women have and are still doing an amazing job of raising generations of believers that not only know the Lord but shine HIS love in their lives. Their family stands out as genuine, gentle and full of love, and this is an interview every parent will benefit from listening to. So sit back and enjoy.
